The Journal of Teacher Action Research
The Journal of Teacher Action Research (JTAR) is a source for reading about and publishing teacher action research Website: Here Just published! Qualitative Research Topics in Language Teacher Education
1st Edition Edited by Gary Barkhuizen Student and novice researchers may have a general idea for a topic they would like to research, but have a difficult time settling on a more specific topic and its associated research questions. Addressing this problem, this book features contributions from over thirty diverse and experienced research supervisors, mentors, and principal investigators in the field of language teacher education. The chapters are autobiographic in nature, with each contributing author reflecting on relevant, current and innovative research topics through the lens of their own professional life and research work. Offering explicit research topics and strategies for each area of expertise, this book will serve as a useful reference for the seasoned qualitative or narrative researcher, and a helpful guide for new researchers and teacher researchers narrowing down their own research topics. |

Recommendations from ReSIG Yahoo!Group members in June 2012 on the best, free platforms for online questionnaire design:
Survey Monkey: "Really flexible, allowing me to present information, ask multiple choice questions as well as ask respondents open questions. It also allows you to sort responses"
GoogleDocs: "Allows you to download the spreadsheet with results (and share them more easily). You can get the same on SurveyMonkey but you need to upgrade to a paid account - prices are very reasonable though. There are other cosmetic advantages to GoogleDocs forms as well (more colours, templates and a cleaner look). You need to have a gmail account, then go to documents > create > form.
Survs: "Lovely interface and the free subscription allows you 200 responses per survey (vs. 100 on SurveyMonkey)".
