Paula Rebolledo [& Tom Connelly]
This poster describes the British Council Chile ‘Champion Teachers’ project’ carried out from January—December 2013 with support from the Chilean Ministry of Education. The main aims were to encourage a cohort of secondary school English teachers in Chile to identify problems/issues in their classrooms, to support them in engaging in ‘Exploratory Action Research’ (Smith, Connelly and Rebolledo forthcoming),, and for the organizers to learn lessons for future iterations of the project. The project was innovative in that it targeted secondary school teachers facing large classes, very busy schedules, and other difficult circumstances; it was a relatively large-scale and long-term project; and participation was voluntary, not qualification-oriented. Valuable lessons were learned for future iterations of the project, and these lessons were focused on in our poster presentation.
