This poster is titled ‘Teachers working with Exploratory Practice (EP) in an EAP context’. It tells the story of teachers implementing Exploratory Practice for the first time in an EAP context in the UK. In following the stories of language teachers working on pre-sessional courses and starting their research journeys, I identify a number of themes: the anxiety and excitement of starting practitioner research; the 'moments of transition' from problems to puzzlement; and the processes of 'doing-being' EP. What concerned us as we contemplated starting to research our classrooms? How did we incorporate EP into our normal teaching practices? What issues did we face and what support did we need?
